What is the GLOBE Programme?

The GLOBE Programme is an international environmental education project, encouraging children in schools to measure their local environment, and make their findings available to everyone using the internet.

The programme includes activities relating to many curriculum areas, at both primary and secondary levels (KS 2-4).  You simply choose the activities that you want to do, depending on your teaching needs.  GLOBE's main resources are outlined under the headings below:  

What happens next?

Students collect their data - using standardised procedures - then enter it over the Internet using simple on-line forms.  Using the students' data, GLOBE provides free images, maps and graphs on the state of the planet.  All raw data can also be downloaded to compare and contrast local and global environments.  But first, you need to Join GLOBE
