Project Kicks Off
The 6-country EU
project to provide new e-learning materials has now begun,
and first drafts are being trialled by teachers in each
country. We need more teachers to help us, so please let us know
if you could assist - and get to visit Estonia in September

Photocall at
GLOBE School
To
improve our GLOBE educational materials we are working more closely
with several schools. One of the first is Our Lady of Lourdes in
Birmingham, where we called in for some press photographs...

Although
there is no competition in reporting GLOBE data, it is good to
be able to thank all the Schools and Education Centres for their
contribution to world science over the last four years. The top
five reporting schools in the UK were (with the number of
data collected in brackets):

E4SD
Project Begins
Thanks to support
from the Environmental Action Fund - run by the Department for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs - GLOBE has now started a
new sustainable development education project: E4SD.
Over the next three years this will provide curriculum-focussed
materials enabling pupils to measure their progress towards
sustainability. April

Regional
Teacher Training
Following our
links to regional Science and
Millennium Centres we now have the first
training courses agreed, with more to come shortly. Costs will be £50 for a full day course, inclusive of
GLOBE Manuals, site entrance

GLOBE Regional Centres
First it was just the Glasgow
Science Centre, now we are developing partnerships with
Regional Science Centres across England, including the Earth
Centre in Doncaster, the National
Space Centre in Leicester, @Bristol,
Manchester
