The
Northumbrian Water GLOBE Project
What if your
school or education centre is selected?
If
your school or education centre is selected to join this project, Northumbrian Water
will provide you with the following, free of charge:
-
an
automated Davis Weather Station, and a rain gauge (Details
here!)
-
All
the software to send your weather date to GLOBE and
Northumbrian Water
-
A
one-day GLOBE Inset training session for 1 teacher
-
Ongoing
support from GLOBE for 12 months
This
package is worth over £1,000!
In
return, Northumbrian Water expects each of the selected schools
and education centres to join the GLOBE Programme and send their weather data to both
GLOBE and Northumbrian Water. In addition, we hope the
network of schools will develop joint projects, get involved
with GLOBE in the UK and internationally, and help with
publicity where they can. Additional teachers in the
school can also join the project by attending a training day, at
a cost of £80 per teacher.
The
training will be taking place throughout the North East starting
in July 2007 and continuing in the Autumn Term.
