Durham Wlidlife Trust provide information and educational programmes to people throughout the county. Links from the species pages give specific information about local wildlife. While the reserves option offers details that inform any visitor about the beautiful and rich Durham landscape.
For lesson plans for KS 1-5 and a downloadable Biodiversity Guide for Teachers check out Action for Wildlife - the Durham Biodiversity Plan (or DBAP). The plan covers Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland and sets out to conserve or recreate biodiversity i.e. the variety of life, all species and the variation within them.
